There are several items needed for the Practical Life area of our classrooms. In this area the children will independently clean, prepare foods, care for themselves, and care for the environment. Ordinarily many of these items are found at garage sales and thrift shops. If any of the below listed items are not in use in your home, or you come across something at a sale, please consider donating them for use in the classroom.
Towels: white, dark green, yellow, orange, red, black, dark blue, light (sage) green, gray, pink, purple
Flannel sheets: white, green, orange, red, gray, tan, gold
Cotton sheets: white, gold, green, gray, black, purple, red, turqoise
Small vases: glass, ceramic, brass, silver, or wood
Trays: any natural material tray, silver, wood, brass, glass, ceramic
Plates: small salad plates, no plastic
Bowls: small bowls, no plastic
Baskets: any size with or without handles
Boxes or keepsake pots/containers: wooden, brass, silver, ceramic
Antique wash basins and pitchers (for old-fashioned hand washing)
Small solid wood tables (without drawers)
